Looking for something special in the center of the Moscow? Join us as Basilica Hostel. Meeting point for open minded travelers and artists. Just steps to the Kremlin, Basilica hostel is part of the ensemble of a Russian Orthodox Church built in 1781 - the Church of the Silver Trinity. Once the residence of Monks, our building was completely renovated in 2010 to become Moscow's premier hostel. Basilica differs significantly from other Moscow hostels in that it is the only to have our own private building and surrounding grounds for the enjoyment of our guests. See the video to learn more!
Staying with Basilica hostel, you experience the beautiful history of Moscow first hand. Surrounded by the old streets of historical Moscow, we are an easy 10 minute walk to the Kremlin and Red Square. You can see the Kremlin from the river bank in front of the church.
Silver Trinity Church holds important historical relevance for Moscow. The church was built with funds from the grandfather of the writer Alexander Pushkin. From the bank of the river in front of the church Tsar Peter the Great learned to sail his first ship. Nowadays you can catch a boat excursion from the dock, a great way to see Moscow.
In our gardens out back we hold bar-b-q parties daily. In the evenings our guests relax in the large garden gazebo with comfortable chaise-lounges and sofas. A great way for socializing and meeting fellow travelers.
Basilica Hostel has a large art tradition. Lining our walls are exhibitions of trendy local Russian artists.
