Hostel Description
If you are looking for somewhere comfortable and affordable the best place to try first is the University of Bath. We are set in 200 acres of land at Claverton Down surrounded by trees and greenery overlooking the beautiful city of Bath, just over 1 mile from the City centre. A regular bus service to the University departs at 10 minute intervals from the City centre as well as from Bath bus station.
The University of Bath offers a variety of accommodation to suit all needs, with a variety of room types to suit all budgets. No minimum stay required. Guests can choose from several standards of rooms ranging from basic no frills accommodation with shared facilities to premium single, double and twin en-suite rooms with bath and shower, toilet and washbasin. Premium rooms have in-room tea and coffee making facilities as well as televisions, hairdryer and clock radio. Linen and towels are provided in all of our accommodation and all en-suite rooms are serviced daily. All other rooms are serviced once during your stay (if staying for more than three days) and all communal areas are cleaned daily (Monday to Friday). We also have a selection of rooms based in our City Centre Accommodation in Carpenter House, all rooms are standard with wash basin and access to shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. Please note there are no parking facilities with our City Centre accommodation, however there is multi storey car park in Avon Street, a couple of minutes walk from this accommodation.
We have 56 premium en-suite rooms available year round and over 2000 room available during the summer vacation time. (21st June 2008 to 15th September 2008)
All of our accommodation has access to a communal kitchen equipped with fridge freezers, and iron and ironing board but no equipment or crockery is provided, there are also dining areas within the kitchens. Smoking is permitted in designated areas only. There is no internet access available.
The University operates a pay-and-display parking scheme in East car park between 08.00 and 18.00 Monday to Friday (maximum stay 6 hours £3). Parking on Saturday costs £1 and on Sunday it is free. A discounted permit is available for £3.50, which is valid for 7 days. These can be purchased on arrival when you collect your key.
